1. What services do you offer?
This is a curl-specific salon that specializes in cutting and styling naturally curly hair. I offer customized dry cuts, followed by a curl-enhancing styling and education session using Innersense organic, non-toxic products. No color, no chemical treatments — just healthy, intentional hair care for curls.
2. Do you work with straight or wavy hair?
This salon is dedicated to natural curls only, from wavy (2C) to tightly coiled (4C). If your texture is naturally wavy, curly, or coily, you're in the right place. Unsure? Send a photo to hannah@thecurl.co or a text to 651-760-7894, and I’ll help guide you in booking the right service.
3. What products do you use?
We carry Innersense as our product line. All of their products are organic, plant-based, and curl-friendly — free of sulfates, silicones, parabens, and synthetic fragrances. These support scalp health, curl definition, and long-term moisture. We can discuss customized product recommendations at your appointment if desired.
4. What’s your approach to curly cuts?
I cut curls dry and in their natural state so I can see how they live. This allows me to shape your hair in a way that complements your unique curl pattern and curl variation — meaning more than one curl type on the head, which is very common.
5. Do I need to prep my hair before my appointment?
Yes — please arrive with your curls detangled, dry, and worn down in their natural texture (no buns, braids, or twist-outs). Minimal product buildup is best, but please do use your usual products and techniques (like diffusing), so I can see your curls as they normally are.
6. Do you wash or style hair after the cut?
It depends on the service you book. First Visit (New Client) appointments always include a wash and curly set. For follow-up appointments, you can choose whether or not to include cleansing and styling.
7. Do you accept walk-ins?
No — all appointments are by appointment only. This allows for a focused, relaxed experience with no rushing and full attention on your curls.
8. What is your cancellation policy?
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance. Non-emergency late cancellations or no-shows will result in a service fee of 50% of the appointment cost. I value your time and appreciate the same in return.
9. Do you offer kids’ cuts?
Yes — for children, 10 years old and under, with curly hair, as long as they’re comfortable sitting for about 20 minutes. We can discuss products and styling tips for kids during the appointment as well. Generally, we have time for a quick curl refresh afterward, but the hair is not dried unless you book a longer appointment. Most kids don’t have the patience to sit under the dryer after styling.
10. Do you sell the products you use?
Yes! I offer a curated selection of Innersense, the organic curl-care products I use during your appointment. You can purchase them in-salon or place an order afterward for pick-up.
